With DD1, we didn't need to cosleep at all, so this has all been new to me with DD2.
I had an earlier thread about DD2's terrible sleep since 6m. She's 10m next week and thanks to a next2me forever cot, we've finally got her out of our bed and into her own cot for at least the first part of the night. She consistently wakes around 4-5am ish (despite ruling out all the obvious causes) and i generally just bring her in with me for the rest of the night so we get some more sleep before we have to get up.
Because the next2me is connected to our bed, ive never had to worry about her falling out - if she moved, she would just roll / crawl into the next2me. However, I'd ideally like to start moving the next2me away from our bed (as it allows in cot mode) ready to transition her into her own room (and DH to come back from sleeping in the spare room 🥳).
So my question is how do I make sure she doesn't roll out of bed when there is nothing next to the edge of the bed? Should I use a bed guard or similar? What does everyone else do when cosleeping?
