Night wakings 17mo

Hi.

We have a 17month old girl. She's never slept through the night. She wakes up 10+ times a night. She sleeps in her cot in a separate room (for her nap and at night) with blackout curtains and white noise on. When I say she wakes up, she doesn't properly wake up, usually she sits up in her cot and starts making noises or crying, then I immediately come in and usually its enough just to lay her back down and she goes back to sleep. Around 3 or 4am this does not work anymore and we have to bring her into our bed as we can't settle her and she points her finger at the door showing that she wants to come with us.
She has one nap during the day 12-1.30 (only half an hour nap if she's at nursery which is 2 days a week).
Bedtime is 7-7. Bedtime routine is bath every other day, a story then brushing teeth then bed.
In general she has a very good appetite and eats very well throughout the day so hunger is 100% not the reason for wakings.
At this point I am not sure where to turn for help or what we could change to help this. Do I call our HV and speak to her about it? Do I go to the GP? Our girl needs to get a good night rest and its not happening with her waking this frequently!
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is the experience of almost everyone I know. We just bought a bigger bed and from whatever time they first wake up they get in with us. I get far more sleep! So do they! Plural here.

19 months old DS also wakes multiple times and we are co sleeping. Sometimes when not able to transition to next sleep cycle he will sit up on the bed and I then have to lay him down. You can get a medical opinion to reassure you anfmd exclude any othet causes.

Get a medical opinion to rule out anything like sleep apnea- it can happen with little kids if their tonsils and/or adenoids are enlarged and frequent night wakes are often a symptom. Once you’ve done that and if all is ok then depending on what feels right to you, either cosleep all night or sleep train.
