The below are the results received following a 1 night sleep study following suspicion of sleep apnoea.
Does no further follow up seem the right course of action with these results?
The nights sleep was disturbed due to the baby waking a few times, would this have a big affect on the results?
Any advice appreciated.
'His STOP-Bang score was 4/8 which puts him at an intermediate risk of OSA, so we carried out a limited sleep study. This showed an average overnight oxygen level of 9 2.5%, with a 4% desaturation index of 25.8 and an AHl of 25.4, the majority of which occurred when he was lying supine. His Epworth Sleepiness Score was within normal range at 8/24.
This is consistent with moderate postural OSA, and we would advise the use of a mandibular advancement device; these are purchased privately via the Internet or a dentist.
We have not arranged a follow-up and will leave further management'
