Resorted to Medised at 3am, feeling guilty - HELP

DD (8 months old) is normally a good sleeper. The last two nights she's been up every couple of hours, crying. She doesn't appear to be teething right now, and doesn't have a cold either. I checked her temperature, changed her, fed her, burped her, cuddled her, rocked her. Eventually she would sleep after a couple of mins crying (I don't like to let her cry it out but this was 3 mins max and then she slept) however two or so hours later she woke again. This went on all night.

At 3am I gave her Medised and she did sleep for 4 hours at a stretch.

I wish I knew what caused her to wake. Any ideas?

i was up twice in the night aswell.wish i had medised
my son is teething at the moment plus he slept alot yesterday because his stupid mum got very drunk and shes still breastfeeding

I would have done exactly the same. They can't tell you if they have a headache or tummy ache, and teeth might be coming (My DS's seem to be coming forever before they rear their ugly heads!)

Wouldn't feel guilty about the Medised as a one off but do you think she might be waking for attention - ie the cuddles or the feeding? Might be worth doing something like just give her water (if she's eating/drinking enough in the day to fill her up) and then just sitting with your hand on her back, not stroking or cuddling. Then hopefully she'll be reassured having you there if there's something wrong but the attention won't be worth waking up for in future, if that's all it is.

Should perhaps have mentioned she is on all fours in her cot, rocking and crying, when I go in. A bit wired too. She can roll onto her front but not back again, however sometimes she falls asleep on her front, which at this age doesn't worry me too much anymore.

must have been one of those night DD2 was up at 3am! I would have done the same. You dont know if shes in pain for sure, its not gonna do her any harm at all, and you both will feel better for the sleep. Hugs
