Small gap between cot and wall due to skirting board

Hello! My baby is still in a next to me snuzpod. I’m trying to work out where I can put the cot as we are working with limited space and the skirting board in a rented property.

There will be maybe a 1cm gap where the skirting board is. My question is, do I need to remove the skirting board or is the 1cm gap ok? Is there any other way to work around the issue. What does everyone else do in this situation.

Thanks!

Why wouldn’t you want a gap? A gap encourages air to circulate so is a good thing in terms of SIDS. The side of the boy would stop the baby falling into the gap and the bed (eventually) will have a bigger gap.

Im not sure what you mean by what the issue is but nobody removes skirting boards to accommodate a cot. If against the wall is the best place for the cot and away from any draughty windows or radiators, then it will be fine.

ah, I have seen multiple posts about the cot needing to be 30 cm away due to limb entrapment so I don’t know if the gap between skirting board was too small.
