If you co-sleep with an infant, what time do you all go to bed?

DS is 16 weeks and his longest stretch of sleep is also his first - starting from 11pm or so. He does nap on us in the evenings but for say 40-60 mins at a time.

We would like to bring the long sleep stretch earlier but obviously that means we will have to go to bed earlier!

So, if you co-sleep with an infant, what time do you go up to bed?

You might be about to hit the 4 month sleep regression, which resets the whole thing anyway.

At around that age, my son stopped being happy to nap on us in the evening in front of the TV and he wanted to go somewhere dark and quiet, so we'd go up at settle him to sleep 7-8ish, then sneak into the next room so I could have a couple of hours TV. But he woke religiously every 2h.

I go to bed with my 8 month old at 6:30pm every night. Not what I want to be doing but kinda stuck in a bit of a rut now. She notices and wakes up pretty quick if I sneak out. Help!

Oh crumbs! What do you have to entertain you?! What is your partner doing? DH doesn’t get home from work til 6pm so then we have to have dinner etc…!

Same situation here - started co sleeping at around 6 months and I just ended up sitting in bed from 7pm. I would eat dinner with my LO, DH eats when he gets home at 7.30pm.
Zero time together, not great for the relationship.

I've now decided to sleep train (12 months) because we need a change and this just doesn't work anymore!

At 16 weeks mine needed a much, much earlier bed time., like 7. I co-slept only for a very short time but I was able to settle him and leave him to go back down for dinner etc (in view of the baby monitor).

@SleepingQn I go on my phone for a bit. At the moment sleep isn't great so I am often asleep by 8pm anyway. DH is looking after our older child. As another pp said not good for our relationship. Think I'm going to sleep train soon as whilst it worked ok for first 7 months, co sleeping isn't overall working for us any more.

It was a long time ago but I think I used to feed dd to sleep lying down in bed and then sneak off until my bedtime.

We only coslept for a couple of months at around 12-16 weeks and I went to bed at 9. I was easily able to sleep as ds was up hourly from 1am onwards. It got a lot better at around 24 weeks
