2 year old sleep anxiety

My just turned 2 year old appears to have all of a sudden got what I think is sleep anxiety which possibly started just before she turned 2 and had tonsillitis as she was a good sleeper before hand we were able to just put her down in the cot and she would go to sleep and sleep till half 6 7.
but now she’s wanting cuddling to sleep otherwise won’t go near her bed or will instantly stand up and start crying shouting no and mammy daddy. Once cuddled to sleep and put down she will wake multiple times through the night standing up crying and shouting for mammy or daddy again.
we try laying her down straight away but she just instantly stands and gets hysterical and wants picking up. We have even changed the cot into a toddler bed to see if that made a change and it and hasn’t, we have had to to just put her in bed with us when it’s close to us needing to be up for work just so we can get some sleep beforehand.
anyone have any tips we can do as we are just exhausted now and out of ideas on what more to try as leaving her to cry doesn’t seem to work she will just stand up crying and shouting and will not lay down

Not much advice but replying for some solidarity and also to follow other replies for advice!

We are going through a similar thing, maybe not quite as extreme. My nearly two year old will protest the cot a bit but will mostly lay down and sleep if one of us holds his hands through the bars. However he will wake up and stand up screaming mummy cuddle every night. It’s only once a night and the time varies. I find if it is early in the night he settles back very quickly. Anything after 3am is harder and if it is later than 5am I just bring him in with us.
Backstory - He slept through from about 6 weeks until 1 year (starting nursery) and then he has been on and off with sleeping through for the last year. The last month he’s woken pretty much every night at some point.
I believe at 2 there’s another sleep regression related to separation anxiety so I think that’s the root cause!
Do you notice any difference depending on who puts her to sleep and who goes in during the night?
I find he protests the cot a lot less at bedtime if it’s my husband putting him down. He’s quite attached to me at the moment. I always do the night wakings but from tonight I’m waking my husband and sending him in to see if it breaks the cycle of “mummy cuddle”.

Yea if we could get her to lie down when we first put her to bed that could be half the battle with her as I’ve said the same anything from about half 4 onwards she can just come into bed with us as we are up at 7 anyways so no point fighting with her for an hour or more to go back to sleep. But she’s definitely not wanting to sleep in her own bed once she wakes up no matter the time she just stands crying saying no when you try lay her back down she instantly stands up
we are wondering if it’s partially related to her not been at nursery for 2 weeks with it been Christmas and then us off over Christmas so her routine has gone a little bit and she used to having us around more.
she seems to prefer my husband more but he has done the majority off putting her to bed and seeing to her through the night when she was younger and even now he will go in and try anything to get her to lay down and sleep and stay cuddling her in her room for an hour through the night as he doesn’t want her thinking she can wake up any time and come in bed with us which is what has possibly happened already with us just putting her in when she won’t go down.
I’ll have to try putting her down at the beginning and see what happens

@ drive mad 2: It's important to have open conversations with her during the day about any fears she might be experiencing, reassuring her that she is safe. You could also use dolls or toys to act out bedtime routines, which can help her feel more comfortable and understand what to expect at night. Additionally, try to reduce screen time before bed to help her wind down and prepare for sleep.
