my lo's did it, they were able to turn by themselves and seemed to be ok.

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 21:16

fine and safe

dd started it at the same time

she can roll easily now so worry not

K999 · 02/05/2008 21:17

Perfectly normal...my dd2 sleeps on her front all the time. She started this at about 10 months.

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 21:19

DD has done it from about 5 months once she started to roll.

missdashwood · 02/05/2008 21:21

thanks for that, shes been sleeping far better since she's started doing it, its as tho she finally feels comfortable!

Tbh, there's not much you can do if she's turning by herself, other than stay up all night turning her onto her back. I wouldn't worry too much.

ShowOfHands · 02/05/2008 21:23

yes dd started sleeping through as soon as she slept on her tummy. she seemed so much more comfy.

chankins · 02/05/2008 21:25

yes ds started sleeping on front when rolled at 5 mo, there was nothing I could so, plus it was good as he started sleeping through too. Now he turns straight onto front whenever you put him in cot. Doesn't like any covers on him either !

Pinkjenny · 02/05/2008 21:27

Dd sleeps on her front but doesn't sleep through. Sorry, I seem to be repeating myself. Again and again and again.

EyeballsintheSky · 18/05/2008 21:53

DD has started doing this and she's only 18 weeks. She can roll back to front but not front to back. She also buries her face in the matress the way she buries in my chest when she's asleep on me. Is it safe to leave her? Unless I stay up all night and keep watch there's not much I can do...

marymungoandmidge · 18/05/2008 22:00

Eyeballsinthesky - yes DD (now 9 months) did all of this from about 5 months as she started to roll then too. They have little snout noses so can breathe quite easily despite how it looks and most are more comfortable on their fronts... so don't worry (but I did too so all quite normal!)

EyeballsintheSky · 18/05/2008 22:04

Thanks Mary. Every day brings something new to worry about, doesn't it?!

marymungoandmidge · 18/05/2008 22:08

Yes - tis true...but they are quite resilient - having said that worried all the bloody time no 1 now we have no 2 an much more relaxed ....well relatively speaking !
