Baby wakes up every hour & a half through the night.. not hungry?

Hey!

hoping someone has some suggestions as we are going abit crazy.. our baby is 13 weeks and wakes up every hour / hr and a half through the night mostly and doesn’t need anything but has to be soothed back to sleep which can range from replacing dummy to a snuggle.

we have tried to wait it out before he starts to really cry and we put him to bed drowsy but awake during the day for all naps and for bedtime, we also so get him back off to sleep without feeding so i don’t think it can be bottle associated with being soothed to sleep? Especially as day time naps he goes down whilst still awake.

the room is 18-20 degrees and hes either in 2.5 tog or 3.5 (wondered if chilly sometimes even though 2.5 was recommended but made no difference.

He does not eat amazingly during the day calorie wise so have wondered if this is it but he has done 4/5 hour stints before but on one off occasions randomly spread out through weeks..

any help for a very sleep deprived mum would be amazing

I think they go through a sleep phase change- from that of a new born to that more akin to our sleep wave patterns around this age.

It's really tough - i remember every 45 mins at one point.

I was breast feeding and fed him back to sleep out of desperation for sleep. So I'm probably not much help.

Getting lots of fresh air and daylight during the day is really helpful though, for any baby or child at this time of year.

Growth spurts can mean they're also hungrier. How often is he feeding at night?

he hasn’t ever not done it so i’m not sure its related to any growth / sleep changes but i could be wrong!

we do occasionally get the odd long stretch so it’s clearly doable for him and it’s not from hunger but most the time its a solid 2 hours when he first goes down then an hour / hr and half the rest of the night.. so exhausting as by the time you dose back off they wake again!

going to try get out on some more walks.. hope for the best🙄 thank you!

Ah ok, you have my sympathies. My first born was very under weight at birth and I don't think ever slept longer than 2-3 hrs for a very long time (and the aforementioned 45 mins around 12 weeks.) . We ended up co sleeping as it was just easier. He did eventually sleep though, and I slept much better with him. It's the getting back to sleep but that's the hardest!

He's very bouncy and bright at 12. I remember sleep was always worse when he was trying to learn things too. Eg crawling, walking. Number two slept a lot better, even though nappy chnages!
