4 month old - tummy sleeping

My 4 month old will not stop rolling onto her tummy. I put her down on her back but she wakes after 45 minutes, rolls onto her tummy and goes back to sleep. I flip her back but repeat and repeat.

Last night I woke up twice and both times she was on her tummy.

I felt like it was okay as she can roll (not confidently the other way) and has good head control? If she wakes up she will usually cry straight away and wake me up

I searched on here and all the comments were saying absolutely don’t allow it. What do I do?

Not a pfb but my 1st baby didn’t do this 😬

My second-born did this. We didn't have a lot of choice in the matter, he knew what he wanted! I'm not sure how you WOULD stop a baby that was absolutely determined to sleep on their front.

As you know, it's against SIDS guidelines, but babies haven't read those unfortunately.

Yep she’s pretty determined. She figured rolling out now during the day so she’s pretty non stop

I suppose I can’t stop her just unsure if I need to keep rolling her back or not as she got on her front herself. I’m quite anxious around sleep as it is

I could have written this myself! My baby same age last few nights has been doing the same, she's been rolling for around a month but not in her sleep, I have a snuz hero alarm on her and because it doesn't work aswell in this position she's setting the alarm off every night, such a stress but not much we can do except turn them back.. eeek

Are you turning her back every time you notice? We have an owlet so that reassures me a bit. I’ve turned her back so much between 7 and now that she’s wide awake and angry

both my DC slept on their tummies and came to no harm. In fact, back in the 70s it was recommended! I think that if they can turn themselves over they will not come to any harm.

Sorry for the late reply, yes If she wakes up on her tummy and she wakes me up yes but since this happened her alarm hasn't gone off so I only see her in the morning awake on her tummy with her head up so she must be OK:).

If a baby can roll it should be fine for them to sleep on their tummy. You can turn her over when she does it, but there's not a safe way to stop it.
