Baby only sleeps in cot in the morning

Nearly 5 weeks old DD.
Will only sleep on one of us at night and is very grizzly. Waking a lot.
In the morning she will sleep in her cot from about 6.30-12 on and off with wakes to feed.
We don't mind too much ATM as we can split the nights but when DH work increases it'll be a big struggle.
Theres been days where she hasn't slept in the morning due to appointments etc and it made no odds to the night time. And currently it's the only time we get good sleep.
Any advice? Anyone else small one similar?

She is 5 weeks old if you get her into the habit of sleeping on one of you it will be hard to get out of, I would be putting baby in the cot and leaving them in the cot if they wake they wake it will be a lot easier in the long run.

She will cry for hours though. Isn't she too young to sleep train?

Yes she is much too young! My baby was the same and it turned out he had terrible reflux, are there any signs of this? The only way we managed was propping him on his side and then he slept which obviously I know you're not supposed to but it worked and we did it safely, I would speak to the health visitor ASAP and they can advise about what it might be

It's also a myth that babies get into the habit of things, they change all the time and I've always thought when I've been told this that no other mammal just leaves their baby unattended when they're tiny! The other thing that helped us was co sleeping, I did a lot of research into it and it worked amazingly to get us all some sleep

I don't think so. She doesn't vomit much and doesn't seem in pain. She feeds very well and is gaining.
She gets distressed when she farts and does fart a lot.
She will sleep peacefully in the morning though. If it were reflux she'd be on pain then too most likely wouldn't she?

Yeah I couldn't just leave her to cry. She's too little anyway.
I don't think I'd sleep well co sleeping as I'm very anxious. I know there's ways to make it safer but I think I'd worry too much.
She will sleep in her cot happily but not at night! Only the morning.

I kept falling asleep with him at night and I'm under perinatal mental health for post natal anxiety so I completely get it. My baby was exactly the same with wind. Talk to your health visitor or local children centre. It is so hard but it does get better. When does your partner go back to work?
