Floating black spheres above baby's cot

Last night I woke up and saw a cluster of floating black spheres above my baby's cot next to me. I was in a state of confusion, I sat up and was trying to work out what was going on. My husband woke up and asked me what was wrong and I tried to explain to him, all I could manage to say was that there were flying things in the room 😂
This happened once before when my baby was very young, only a couple of weeks old but I thought it was a bird in the room.
Any interpretations or suggestions of what this is? It was like I wasn't fully awake but it wasn't a dream either. Kind of freaked out!

Confusional arousals. Basically means that you were in a dream-like half asleep/half awake state. Common when sleep deprived or stressed

Anything floating in my vision I would check blood pressure , you don't have preeclampsia did you ?

Lack of sleep causes all kinds of weirdness. When DC1 was tiny DH woke up one night to find me standing facing the wall and scrabbling at it because I was half-awake and convinced my phone charger had got embedded behind the plaster

I was fully aware of it happening although confused. It's so weird, been thinking about it all day. I don't have any blood pressure issues. Possibly is just sleep deprivation.

Yep. Again, sounds exactly like a confusional arousal. I get them too - always fully aware of what’s happening during the ‘dream’, after a few minutes though I snap out of it and properly come to my senses. Definitely sleep deprivation related.
