2 year old constantly waking up crying

My little girl has never been the best sleeper but lately all she is doing is waking up in the night crying and she doesn’t want to go back down in her own bed. She’ll go back to sleep in there until it hits maybe 2-3am but after that she point blank refuses it and ends up in my bed. I don’t mind it but I want to kick the habit and have my own space back a little.

I've also noticed lately she excessively swallows in her sleep and she’s choking/gagging or gasping because of this (not entirely sure which).

Now I’m not too sure if these two things are linked?

She also coughs a lot at night! She has suspected asthma and uses her blue inhaler when needed so again not sure if this could be a factor in it.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions or has a little one who does this and there has been something underlying causing it I’d be grateful for any help.😊

Does she have a brown/steroid inhaler for her asthma?

@DustyLee123 she doesn’t no. She had another awful night so she’s seeing her dr today, hoping they’ll be able to sort something out 🤞🏼

I’d be asking for a trial of a brown inhaler. Coughing at night is classic asthma. Do you have the asthma/eczema/hayfever in her fami.y?

Have you considered reflux? Does she have a history of reflux/constipation/stomach problems? Coughing in the night and gagging can be reflux coming up into the throat.

@DustyLee123 we do, I suffer with all of the above and my daughter suffers with bad eczema

@Ihaveneedofwaternear she has never had a problem with reflux but she did use to have allergies to milk and egg. She passed the food ladders for those over 6 months ago now thankfully
