Toddler split nights

Hi, does anyone have any advice regarding split nights.

2.3yr old has been having split nights for 8weeks 😫 she transitioned to a toddler bed about 3months ago due to climbing out of her cot on a few occasions. She loved the big girl bed, never had any issues. She slept through, only coming in to me in the morning around 5.30/6am.

Untill around 8 weeks ago, almost every night she is coming into me around 4 or 5 times through the night. She is awake for hours. No crying, she does eventually fall back to sleep alone but usually after having been up hours.

Is she still napping? If so, she might be having too much sleep and maybe the nap needs to be cut down or dropped. If she's not napping anymore, perhaps a later bedtime will fix it. But even some of the sleep experts admit that sometimes split nights are development related and if so then you just have to ride them out unfortunately. We managed to stop them in our 17 month old after shortening her nap. It was hell while they were happening though, i really feel for you!

Thank you for your reply.

She was napping for 2 hours early afternoon. Today I cut that down to 1 hour, so fingers crossed that helps! X

We had this, it stopped when she dropped the nap.

Did you drop it completely straight away or shorten it first? X

Dropped it completly. For both our girls dropping the nap ensured they got more sleep in total than before. It takes about 2 weeks for them to adapt to the new routine.
