My baby only sleeps about 8 hours total in 24.

She will only contact nap, if I try and put her down, she wakes up 9 out of 10 times.

Shes EBF and will only fall asleep on the boob or in the car (sometimes). She used to sleep in the carrier, but won’t now.

She used to only wake up once or twice a night then she hit 11 weeks and wakes up 8-12 times a night now unless I bring her into bed with me which I hate doing but I do subconsciously in the night because I’m so exhausted.

All I can find online are expensive as heck sleep consultants who I have no idea if actually work because there is no industry regulation.

I can’t cope. I need to be able to put her down sometimes. I need to sleep. Please help me. What can I do to help her to sleep better? There must be something.

I’ve been trying to put her down to sleep since 2pm. She wakes up immediately every time. I need to put her down. I need to put her down.

I can’t leave her to cry either though. I can remember being extremely young and crying for my Mum and she wouldn’t come, and I grew up believing no one loved me, I don’t want that for her

Please don’t think I don’t love her because I do. I love her so much, she’s my dream come true. I can see in her face how exhausted she is, she has barely slept all day and all night. I want her to sleep for her own sake. I just need to be able to put her down while she does.

Gosh this stage is SO hard! Of course you need to sleep.
Have a look at safe co sleeping guidelines on lullaby trust and feeding lying down techniques, that really helps at night.
Co sleeping isn't risky if done safely.

During the day I would recommend putting her in a sling so you can carry her around and have your hands free.
Also try and take her for a walk in the pram to see if she'll sleep like that? Getting daylight every day helps them learn when it's night and day too.

Also just know that it does get better! Don't be too hard on yourself while things are like this, don't be too worried about housework- just do the bare minimum for now.

Do you have a partner to support you? Could you get a few hours of sleep in the evening while they have the baby and then you take over when they go to bed?

You poor thing, I know how this feels - it is the four month sleep regression and for those babies (and carers!) that are affected by it, it is horrendous.

My DS did the same at this age - woke every 45 minutes at night and would not be put down.

Of course you love her, it is just that you must be out of your mind with exhaustion.

How many weeks is she now, how long has this been going on for?

Where was she sleeping previously?

Is she showing any signs of rolling, can she be swaddled?
Are you able to feed lying down?

Exactly the same here with my 4 month old DD.

Wakes as soon as she is put down most of the time. Have had a handful of good naps without waking.

She is even waking now at night time when she used to sleep so well her in next to me 😭 so I've ended up just putting her in bed with me to get a somewhat decent sleep.

It's so hard OP. Hoping it's a a 4 month phase and will pass quickly for you x
