I have led her back down in her cot over 50 times and picked her dummy up more than 50 times.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I wish she would go to sleep instead of laughing at me.

what age is she?

Marne · 18/04/2008 20:55

2 very active but does'nt talk. Dd1 was in a bed at this age but if i put dd2 in a bed she would be running around the house . She is pulling her cot apart, throughing pillows and sheets evrywhere, if i have to put the sheets back on one more time i'm going to go mad.

Maybe its time to cut out her nap?

yes, how old? if you feeling brave, could wean off dummy, one less thing to worry about at bedtime, and one less thing to replace in the night.

But I think, no matter what age, main thing to suggest is just keep doing what you doing and she will get the point soon.....

dizzydixies · 18/04/2008 20:56

leave them, she'll soon get bored of playing games with you

is she old enough to put a couple of dummies in the cot so she'll always be able to find one?

Marne - I sympathise - my dd 21 months who used to sleep very well has recently taken to staying awake for hours! She has toys in her cot to keep her occupied, and we often hear her putting her bears to sleep. I went in a few days ago as she was yelling for us, and she had both bears covered up and asleep and dared to tell me 'shhh', insisted in getting up ! I was naughty actually and did get her up , she watched Miami Vice with us and had curry , trashed the front room and back to bed.

She often chucks her toys out too.

Sorry no suggestions really, dont follow my advice!!

I have just weaned her off the dummy during the day so night is next.

She is led down now but still rolling around.

She will have to go into a bed soon as she has broken the cot

My dd2 (2 and 3 months)has started doing the same. She went through a phase of not sleeping at around 12 months too.She will strip off even her nappy, throw everything out of her cotbed, jump up and down laughing, and she has smashed the lightshade by using the rod out of the window blind as a sword
I shall be lurking with interest.

She's almost asleep.

She is sleeping in the sitting room ATM as we only have a 2 bed house. Dd1 has a room but dd2 can't sleep in with her as dd1 wakes up in the night and wakes her up
When we get her a bed she will just have to get used to dd1 waking up.

She's asleep now.

our dds are in the same room and have been since dd2 was too big to fit in her moses basket - you'd be suprised how quickly they get used to each other

pelvic dd2 has to be in one of those all in one fleecy suits as anything we put in with her gets launched, including a sleeping bag so its the only thing warm enough to keep her cosey enough to go to sleep

am now considering nail guns/gaffa tape and staples?!?

Beauregard · 18/04/2008 21:12

Good idea re the all in one dizzy. The one we have has a zip though which dd2 would undo.

dizzydixies · 18/04/2008 21:14

is that a no to the nail gun then?!

Beauregard · 18/04/2008 21:16

nailgun a great idea

Try dropping the nap. my ds2 is a nightmare to get to sleep if he has had a nap (throws covers/sheet/toys out, literally pulls the cot apart, and tips it over ) but if he hasn't had a nap he is so good. It does mean the last part of the day is a battle to keep him awake for long enough to have supper!

I think we will put him in a proper bed soon, but, like your dd, I can't see him staying in it.
