You should always place baby on their back but if they roll or go on their sides themselves it's fine. You can't stop it.
My little boy loved sleeping on his side from that age and is now a tummy sleeper (6 months)

You are doing everything right and if they do fully roll over and get stuck, they will likely call out if wanting to get back.
You don't need to stay awake :)

Sounds like a you’e a great mum. Enjoy your baby, she will roll about. Make sure she is always in an uncluttered cot with no pillow, No loose blankets or cot bumper, no hat on, and her feet touch the end of her cot or bassinet.

I got one of the mats that go under them and detects breathing. It went off once when she rolled all the way off so you might to consider that

Get the owlet.

As long as the cot is clear and there is just a firm mattress with a fitted sheet they'll be fine. Sleep aids like the owlet can cause so much unnecessary stress.

Follow safe sleep guidance, I find the lullaby trust very helpful. I'd also make sure you're not swaddling at this point so the baby can access their arms.

I had the exact same worries as you when my baby started rolling. All you can do is follow the safe sleep guidelines and have her sleep in your room, in her own cot, always put her down on her back and clear the cot of anything.

As others have said you can buy an Owlet, which might give you some peace of mind. I did consider this myself, but read they could give false alarms, which I felt would be quite traumatising.

I would also practice tummy time as much as possible to strengthen her neck, so she learns to roll properly. I felt more relaxed when I knew my baby could move around independently.

When my baby started rolling, I used to constantly put her back onto her back, but it is exhausting, especially if you are on your own. Ultimately the safe sleep guidelines are drilled into us (for good reason) but it’s important to remember that SIDS is rare, and when I was a baby I was constantly put down on my front, as that was the advice at the time.

All you can do is follow the current guidelines, and as she gets older and can move about independently, hopefully you’ll be able to relax.
