Baby keeps waking up crying

So my LB is 3 months, he has breastfed to sleep pretty much since birth, and for context I also keep him upright for 15/20 minutes after feeding as he has reflux
He usually settles really well after feeding and falls asleep in my arms, I then set him down in his crib and he's fast asleep.
However, for the last week or so he has woken suddenly a couple of minutes after falling asleep absolutely balling, no amount of rocking, shushing or soothing will settle him - he only stops when I put him back on the boob, in which case he will fall back asleep. This tends to happen 3 or 4 times before he finally seems to be off. He is doing this alot during his day time naps also
I make sure to burp frequently and that he's comfortable prior to feeding, clean nappy etc. I do think he's teething early showing lots of signs, additionally he is a big baby (18lbs, and was 11lbs at birth) so has had quite a few big growth spurts too
Any advice would be amazing!

Growth spurt or sleep regression. It's what they do unfortunately.

Can you feel the teeth if you put your finger in? Might be worth while giving him something for ut if so.

Could also be he's sleeping on you and enjoying the heat etc. You could try heating t his crib up with a hot water bottle (removing it before putting him down) then putting him in. Another option is clothing of yous in there during the day etc so your scent comes off it

If it's teething give him a touch of nurofen/Calpol and see if it helps. You said he falls back to sleep if you put him on the breast. Does he use a dummy at all?

I feel your pain and remember very clearly when my 6 month old's sleep went from fab to awful... it was almost 3 months on the dot. He's only just gotten a little better with respect of getting to sleep more easily and less frequent wake ups. Between the growth spurts, teething, vaccines & developmental leaps it seems this is just how it is and you have to ride through it.
Its tough. I say this laying down with my son who had a brief cat nap in the morning and I've been trying on and off since 1pm to get him to nap Confused

Thank you for your response - I have been giving a dose of Calpol each night before bed
He doesn't use a dummy, we tried to introduce one when he was a month old and he just wasn't into it haha! Kept spitting them out, we tried a few different ones! I wonder if it's something worth trying to give him again? I do notice he makes sucking motions in his sleep

Yes can definitely feel the tooth on his lower gum! Have been trying a dose of Calpol before bed ☺️
That's a really good idea, will give this a try thank you!

Does the NHS still give you a book/chart on growth? At 3 months it could be a growth spurt

This sounds like it could be!

You're so right - they have a lot to contend with at this age bless them!
It is very tough, and if anything there's some reassurance in your response - I posted just in case there might be something I'm missing or doing wrong/not doing. If it's just how it is at this stage and we have to get through it then I'm sure I will. Sorry to hear it's been a struggle for you today too!

I remember dd being awful at the same age. Dh and I used to tag team. but we'd been used to her going down easily and every dinner was burnt/cold for a month. It did stop though.

I know people on here are completely against them but if he's sucking for comfort it would be alot easier for you if it was on a dummy as opposed to your boobs😅

This is so me right now, I don't know what a hot meal tastes like 😂 thank you though, I look forward to it settling

My baby wanted the nipple in his mouth permanently. He’d go off to sleep and seconds after being put into his basket he would wake up.

My HV suggested either a dummy or gradually getting him used to going down awake. I hate dummies, so we tried the second option. The HV said he would no doubt cry a bit to start with but would eventually settle. This was such good advice and I followed the same advice with my next two,
