5 month old poor sleep

My DS is now 22 weeks old and EBF.
He was sleeping 9-5/6 in the morning which was amazing until he was about 18 weeks old and it all changed!

Now he is going to bed around 7 and will wake up 830, 1130, 2, 4 and 6

Every time he wakes up he seems hungry feed for 10/15 minutes and seems to go back to sleep

Sometimes after a feed though he can still be unsettled although we moved him into a proper crib and out of the next to me crib and he seems more comfortable

He will go off to sleep without feeding at bed time but I’m worried I’m feeding him to sleep too often so won’t self soothe

Alternatively wondering if he is genuinely hungry? In which case would weaning help?
He won’t take a bottle and feeds every 3 hours approx during the day and I offer very often but he doesn’t always want it

He is a big boy he’s on the 98th percentile and growing out of 6-9 month clothing

Thank you for any help you can offer!

Firstly, waking every couple of hours is much more standard (and much safer from a SIDS point of view) than sleeping through. It's not recommended to night wean before a year old, so if he seems hungry then feed - plus he'll go back over more easily. Don't worry about self soothing. It's not a thing, you can't teach it or ruin it, he'll be able to settle himself back to sleep once he's older and more confident in himself. For now just do what you can to make your life easier - bedshare if it helps, feed to sleep, plenty of fresh air and daylight in the daytime. Hang in there, it'll gradually improve!

Oh and often they are too nosey to feed much in the day at this age so make up for it at night. Don't be tempted to wean him though - milk is very calorie dense so he'll get less nutrition from solid food plus run the risk of bowel issues as an adult as his guts won't be ready for proper food yet.

How's he feeding during the day?

Exactly what @Springadorable said, it’s totally normal at this age, it’s just a case of riding it out, im promise it gets better!

I'd say this is very normal at 5 months old. Babies don't like us sleeping through the night 🙃
It could be teething. Or he might just want to be close to you and feel safe. Or any number of things.
6 months is the recommended time to wait until feeding baby solids, however there are brands such as Ella's kitchen that have 4+month old purees, but your child should be showing the classic signs of being ready to eat solids.
It's just a few weeks away now til you can safely try out some purees with him and maybe the additional calories will help him to sleep better

Best of luck
