Morning all
Our little fella is 6.5 months and struggling to establish any type of regular or reliable sleep pattern overnight. His routine is solid, breast fed and regular naps every day, same bed time etc...but how he does at night varies. Every so often he'll go straight through, others he's up crying for food twice, occasionally thrice. Any advice please? Can't figure out what he needs to settle into better sleep.

You can't make a kid sleep through, it's neurological. Mine didn't sleep through until a week shy of three years old. Perfectly normal now. Sorry to to help more. You just have to keep on being there.

I kept waking up several times until DD started sleeping through at about 17 months. I wonder if he has eaten/fed enough during the day time when he wakes up at night as you mention he is able to sleep through some nights.

They don’t really do consistency, I’m afraid. 6.5 months is so tiny, and there’s lots changing in terms of weaning, teething, and learning new skills.

It’s great that you have a consistent routine, and that he can sleep through. He’ll gradually do so more and more (probably with some bumps in the way) until it’s the norm.

Honestly waking 2-3 times is ok and normal, not a problem to be fixed. Things will improve naturally as baby gets older.
