6 month fighting daytime naps

Evening ladies

DD is now 6 months. Has never been a great sleeper and has always got over tired, but I’ve always managed to get her down in the sling as a last resort.

lately she just screams when trying to get her down for a nap, as soon as she’s in the ‘position’ in my arms for a nap she will just flail around screaming and stops as soon as I put her down.
she does the same in the sling now too, kicking her legs and getting upset.
i thought it might be time to introduce crib naps but my god did that go down like a fart in a lift…. She cried and cried every time I tried to leave the room.

she Will sometimes nod off in the pram or car seat but that’s usually when she is absolutely exhausted and sort of has no choice as she physically cannot fight it anymore.

is this something that she will grow out of? It seems to be getting worse and I’m getting concerned that she’ll be like this at a year old and I’ll be popping into the nursery to rock her down on my lunch break.

I have tried to implement a routine but unfortunately as she fights the naps I can never stick to specific times.

Feeling like a bit of a failure I must say. Hoping a mumma expert can shed some light!

My 6mo is the same, absolutely fights the naps unless in a pram.

This week I've managed to get her down for some house naps by copying her nighttime routine minus bath - so sleep sack, white noise and dark, with bottle and rocking - and I've been following a strict three hour schedule (so if she manages to nap 9-9.30, she goes down again at 12.30, back up at 1/1.30, down again at 3.30 and then bedtime routine starts around 6.20.with bed around 7pm). This involves very long pram walks for the Two later naps unfortunately.

It's touch and go.anf it's fucking exhausting and she still doesn't sleep well, but she slept better foe a few days until.it got disturbed a bit. Going to try and implement it again tomorrow. Good luck and solidarity.

I'm absolutely no expert, but how much does she nap? I know this sounds counter initiative but both mine, especially my daughter, needed less sleep and fought more when they were almost bored but not sleepy. Have you tried doing something like taking her outside to look at whatever for 10 mins and then trying again? Sometimes change of scene resets a bit.
