10 Month Old Won't Sleep.

For 2 nights now my 10 month old won't sleep at night unless someone is holding him. He's not hungry, not in pain He's probably had 5 hours of sleep tonight in one chunk of 3 hours before I came to bed, and then one chunk of 2 hours between 2.30-4.30. What has gone wrong?

Will answer all questions. Am honestly so tired at this point that I don't know what information is relevant.

I know you said he’s not in pain but could he be coming down with something? My DD always wants to be held when she’s sick. Things like ear infections can easily go undetected.
Also I wouldn’t say anything’s gone wrong. Sounds like you’re doing a great job of supporting your baby when he’s obviously going through something x

That's really kind of you to say, thank you. I can't completely rule it out but think it's unlikely he's coming down with something. He's quite happy crawling around and playing during the day and he doesn't seem to be off his food at all. He just really doesn't want to sleep in his cot.

If you’re sure it’s not illness or pain. I guess I would say that it’s just about supporting him through whatever it is and getting as much sleep as you can in the process. Do you cosleep? If so have a look at chest sleeping - it can be done in a safe way (I have done it when my DD was sick) look up cosleepy and happycosleeper on instagram and they give guides on how to do it safely. Also get help in the day - anyone that can take LO out for a walk whilst you get an hours sleep? It’s so tough but it will be a phase and will pass x
