Sleep at 6 months old - bedtime routine

Hi mums 😊
My DS has just turned 6 months old and I am hoping for some tips on how to (or if I should?!) change our bedtime routine. He is mostly a great sleeper & has slept through the night without a feed since about 3 months. Daytime naps are hit and miss but I have just tried to go along with him on that since the night time sleep is so good.
I am wondering now if he is going to bed too late for his age. When I do his change/sleeping bag stage at bedtime he gets upset so I think i may be disturbing him because bed should be earlier?

Our nights at the moment:

  • bottle approx 7pm
  • awake for a bit after this then falls asleep with us downstairs about 8/9pm
  • Upstairs at our bedtime so 10/11pm, change, sleeping bag and bottle and into his bed, usually sleeps until 7/8am with the odd wake for comfort only
I am a big believer in following his lead but I also think our 'routine' is maybe still more suited to younger babies. I would like to start implementing bath, bottle, early bed to make it a calmer experience, but also nervous to rock the boat!? Help! Lol

I have the same routine! Tried to take DD up earlier and it hasn't worked. She's also 6 months so I would love some advice on this also.

Mine went to their own cot / room at that age, and stayed there through til morning. I’d think the moving upstairs is quite disruptive

Wow dream baby! I've never actually met anyone whose baby sleeps all the way through the night in their own room!
