6 month old waking 2-4 times an hour at night - help

My son will be 6 months this Sunday and for the past 3 or so weeks his sleep has been awful!

he wakes 2-4 times an hour allllll night because his dummy falls out or he’s rolling onto his stomach so he’s crying until I wake up and roll him back (he can only roll back to belly at the moment)

he’s not waking for a feed or crying to be cuddled or anything it’s just the dummy coming out or the rolling over. What can I do to help him? I’m exhausted.

I’ve added pictures how often he’s rolling but he literally does this from 7pm to 6am!!!

I’d try to gently sleep train him personally. Waking several times an hour isn’t going to be great for any of you. Re the dummies though - we solved this by chucking 10-15 in his cot every night, so when one fell out, there was always another nearby for him to grab and put back in himself.

With the dummies you need to either get rid completely or teach him to put it back himself.

With the rollover, just resettle him where he is and don't roll him back.

Is he in the same room as you? Might be easier to have him in a next-to-me or co-sleeping until he can roll about more freely by himself. That way you can just roll him over and give him a wee "shh" and pat, and get back to sleep quickly yourself.

I agree with PP about the dummies. I put about 12 in the cot with mine. When he loses it and cries, take his hand and move it to the pile of dummies. He'll soon learn to reach and find one himself.

Thing is in the day he can put his own dummy in, he does it all the time! But at night he just cries and cries until I put it back in for him!

as for rolling onto his belly, he absolutely hates being on his belly! I do tummy time multiple times a day and he will last about 2 minutes and then scream. I can’t seem to get anymore out of him in the day than that 😩!

My DD did this with dummies. I just took them off her.

I gave my DS2 lots of dummies

DS1 had a little dog he slept with he would keep it near his head so if his dummy fell out it fell against "woofer"

With the rolling over could you position covers at either side of him to stop him rolling in the first place?

@Mumt02

He'll get the hang of it eventually. It's night, it's dark, he's sleepy and confused. It seems like forever now but he'll get the hang of it.
