My four month has never been the greatest sleeper but hasn't been terrible, would wake every three hours. Since Sunday I don't know what's happened! She has been up the whole night just screaming! She is hysterically screaming. I can't cope. I've not slept. I live in a flat and have two other children who are shattered bless them. I rock her she screams, i feed her she screams, I change her she screams, I don't know to do. She just won't stop screaming. Please someone have some advice.

Is she unwell? This is not usual so I would be investigating in case she is in pain.

Mumoftwo1312 · 13/03/2024 06:28

Vaccine side effects perhaps? Did she recently have her 16w jabs? If it's that, it only lasts a day or two.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 13/03/2024 06:38

It's common for there to be sleep problems at 4 months, if you google 4-month sleep regression you'll find loads of articles.

No signs of any illness. I know there is a sleep regression around 4 months so could it be that? I could handle the broken sleep but the inconsolable crying is the hardest.

My father told me this happened to him as a baby and it turned out that someone had picked him up and dislocated his shoulder. Maybe get her checked out?

Yulona · 13/03/2024 06:47

Give her some calpol.

Danfromdownunder · 13/03/2024 06:48

See the dr? Healthy babies cry but don’t scream hysterically for no reason very often. Poor darling there’s something wrong.

Queijo · 13/03/2024 06:54

Check her toes and fingers for a hair tourniquet.

Then I’d book a drs appointment today and get her seen in case there’s something going on. Babies don’t just scream for the sake of it, so I would assume she’s unwell or in pain.

RandomMess · 13/03/2024 06:55

Also earache can be agonising.

dancinginthewind · 13/03/2024 06:57

Ear infection?
Teething?

LadyNellCardross · 13/03/2024 06:59

I second earache. I had this one night with my 3 month old. It turned out to be a badly inflamed ear and his eardrum had perforated. Get him checked by your GP.

Aussieland · 13/03/2024 07:00

Have you given her pain relief?

mrssunshinexxx · 13/03/2024 07:08

I would go to the dr today maybe reflux or something.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 13/03/2024 07:46

When one of mine did this out of nowhere, it turned out he had an ear infection. When it 'popped' & all the gunk came out he immediately stopped crying & slept like a dream again. Please get her ears checked by a gp as it could easily be this.

Hey guys, managed to get an appointment and she has a ear infection! Hopefully the anti biotics kick in soon. Thanks for your help.
