Impossibly short wake window

Hi everyone, I am a first time mom living abroad so I need as much advice as I can get from this board! My baby is 5 weeks old and we are having trouble with daytime sleep. I have read a million articles on wake windows and preventing overtiredness but I am still coming up short. We have always followed the pattern of natural wake, boob 1, she gets sleepy so diaper change to wake up before boob 2, then sleep or short play if she looks alert, which takes about 45 mins-1 hour total. But for the past 4 days she has been fighting sleep and getting very upset, even staying awake for 3 hours at a time despite practicing the 6 Ss. Which suggests she is overtired and we end up in a stressful cycle of me desperately trying to get her to sleep and her refusing. But the issue is that she is already yawning on the changing mat and showing tired signs after being awake for only 30 minutes. So I cannot even do a 1 boob feed and diaper change before she falls into overtiredness, and she is already flailing and grizzling by the time her diaper is finished. So we are not even having interaction or play time anymore. Has anybody experience this and has some tips?

Personally, I would just let her sleep after the first boob (as long diaper/nappy is clean) just let her enjoy her milk and snooze, if she wakes up/stirs offer the other boob.
Honestly try not to get too hung up on wake windows, be led by your baby and her cues. They can be a guide but all baby’s are different and most of the time they don’t follow a set schedule. If she’s falling asleep on the breast, she’s tired so waking her up for a nappy and then an hour play will exhaust her!
At this early stage play will be really limited but don’t worry about that. She wants closeness and cuddles more than entertainment right now.
Good luck xx

Thanks for your reply, I might change it up and do nappy first then feed on one boob then put down to sleep- she doesn’t hold back on the toilet front so every wake is a nappy change(or two!). Just to be clear, we were only spending 5-10 mins on play, the 1 hour estimate was feed+nappy+play. But you are right in that it is probably just a stage she is going through, I just have a lot of anxiety :p

Oh sorry for the misunderstanding!!
I completely understand the anxiety… I was (still am?) the same. I find wake windows helpful as a guide but it’s much more helpful to get to know your little one (which takes time and constantly changes!!! 🤣)
At that age it was definitely nappy then milk and usually my DD would just fall asleep on the breast and I stay there cuddling her until she woke! I loved the snuggles!
