I have heard friends talk about them. Like an alarm clock for a child but instead of an alarm it lights up and then your LO knows it is OK to get out of bed ? Desperately want one for DS1 aged 2.5 !

I used a cheap set of fluffy fairy lights for dd and put them on a timer and gradually set it later and later until she got to the stage that she had to stay in her room till 7am (was coming through at 5.30/6am). You could also do the same with a nightlight and set it to come on at a certain time and it would mean you wouldnt have to spend the £35 that the one in the link costs.

A plug-in timer switch and a plug-in nightlight (both available from Woolworths) works, too. My dcs know they can get up when the "bear" comes on (bear-shaped nightlight).

Plus we can still keep putting them forward by 30 minutes at the weekend, even though dd can now tell the time. Couldn't do that with a clock!

We use a 'Kidsleep' brand of clock, its the best thing ive ever bought for ds, and now some of his friends have one too and it works wonders for them aswell! Ds always sleeps, or at least stays in bed, until the picture of the bunny has lit up to tell him its morning.
