Love to Dream Swaddle - Worthwhile and What to Wear?

I'm a FTM with a 5 week old daughter. She is struggling with being put down in her moses basket overnight and only really enjoys sleeping on someone. At night, she mainly sleeps on me as she breastfeeds to sleep. When we try to transfer her to the moses basket she wakes herself up and starts by squirming and squeaking etc but eventually starts crying and needs comforting. I've seen online lots of recommendations for the Love to Dream Swaddle and I like that it allows her to have her arms up. However, I was wondering how other parents found it and if it is worth the price tag? I get paranoid about the idea of swaddling at night in case she suddenly decides to roll but don't know if this is less of an issue when her hands are up?

I also saw on the Love to Dream clothing guide that it recommends a short sleeve vest and sleepsuit underneath the equivalent of the 2.5 tog. This seems like quite a lot when other guides recommend a long sleeve vest under a 2.5 sleeping bag for temperatures between 16-20 (which our room generally is). I was wondering what you've put your baby in if you've used the Love to Dream?

Any other tips also welcomed although not keen on co sleeping as this would make me anxious! I know he behaviour is fairly normal for her age and I keep reminding myself she'll grow out of it but any adaptions that would mean some extra sleep in the meantime would be very welcomed!

Thanks.

I was a big fan of them, our DC slept very well.
I found personally that the recommended dressing recommendations were on the conservative side and always put baby in appropriate tog, with a vest and baby grow in the colder seasons.
summer is different.
at this point I assume maybe 2.5 tog + vest + baby grow.
keep an eye on babies hear by feeling their back. If cool, maybe add a cellular blanket , tucked in, where it’s not a hazard.
But big plus for a love to dream.

Hi
I had a Swaddlepod for each of my twins and it's like a thin sleeping bag that holds the baby in and helps them feel secure. I always recommended it to new parents now as mine used them for a least a year and moved up a size as they got bigger. Xx

Was a life saver for me! She wouldn't sleep without it as she would startle and fling her arms about. I had the 1tog ones and used babygrow and vest but I had the heating on all night when she was a newborn. You only have to transition out of them when they can roll but you should have a while yet, they do ones that the arms zip off so you can have arms out when they can roll

Super late response but thanks very much all for your replies. I bought a Love to Dream Swaddle suit but baby brain kicked in and I got completely the wrong thickness! Looking forward to testing it out when I finally manage to get the right one!

I know this is an older post from 2024, but I just wanted to share what worked for us in case it helps someone else. We didn’t have much luck with the Love to Dream, but our baby did really well with the ergopouch cocoon swaddle and butterfly cardi. The cocoon swaddle lets you have arms in or out, and the cardi gives that lovely snug feeling without being too restrictive. We also go by their guide for what to wear underneath based on the room temperature, and it’s been spot on for keeping baby comfy without overheating.
