Would love to hear other peoples routines for their almost 12 month old or thereabouts. Current routine is all over the place and we are toying with dropping the first nap. Would love to hear from others!!

I don't know if it's fool proof but we have a steady routine of naps in her cot in the dark with her bunny, then at bedtime she has dinner, milk, bath, book, teeth clean, kiss other parent good night and up she goes. She might whine for a bit but settles quite quickly.

She always wakes at 5am though, only milk will get her back down for another hour or so.

Rough routine

6.30 up
7 breakfast
9.30 nap for 40 min
12 lunch
1 nap for 2 hrs
5pm dinner
6pm bath, book, teeth, bed

3 toddlers twins and a single no day naps and they sleep 6:30pm till 9am own beds...day naps made nights bad so we dropped them a bit ago

@GingerLiberalFeminist thank you! Sounds similar to my LO's routine but I am phasing out that first nap and seeing if that helps with the night wakings we are having at the moment. Today he only had about 20 mins for the morning nap so let's see!

@Ladyj84 thank you! How old are your LO's? I could never imagine no naps at the moment, my baby wouldn't cope!

@FebMama does your DS take a while to fall asleep for afternoon nap? Or is afternoon nap starting to creep later because he’s awake for longer periods in the day?
At that age my DS was starting to go down later for afternoon nap and it was having a huge knock on effect to getting him down at night. We capped the morning nap (I can’t remember how long it was exactly) to help keep afternoon nap at a certain time. His sleep changed a LOT from that point on. By 22ish months he’d dropped all naps.

@Inyourwildestdreams yes the afternoon nap has started to get later and later and it was pushing bedtime further back! Not ideal as I need the evenings to myself.

Today he did about 9.50am - 10.10am (20 mins) for morning nap. Then 12.30-2.30pm for afternoon nap. Bedtime at 7pm. He's been asleep since with no wake ups yet but they usually start around this time so let's see!

@FebMama Sounds very very like our situation when DS was that age. Regardless of what time he went to sleep in the afternoon, we also capped the afternoon nap at 2.30pm. Then as things started to change and he was taking a bit longer to get to sleep at night, I brought that forward to 2pm etc.

My friends were all outraged at me for waking my baby but it honestly saved us 😅

@Inyourwildestdreams I definitely agree with waking for naps when needed!

Despite capping the morning nap yesterday, we still had a bad night last night. LO woke at 1.30am (so had a good stretch from 7pm for 6.5 hours), but was so unsettled after 1.30am. I end up bringing him into the bed just for ease but it doesn't necessarily help the situation! I'm shattered!
