4 month old sleeping on belly

Hi,
I have a 4.5 month old (20wks) who recently has learnt how to roll from front to back, she started off my learning to roll onto her side and realising that's how she likes to sleep, but not she goes onto her front and seems to prefer to sleep that way as I've been spending so much of my time at night rolling her back onto her back for her to be back on her belly within 5 mins!
I worry so much because of it increasing the chance of sids but its exhausting, she has been sleep 7 till 7 but when I roll her onto her back it sometimes wakes her and she gets upset!

Once mine could role dependably, I didn't bother rolling them back. Still put them down on back, but often woke up to them the other way round.

Hi OP - both of mine slept best on their fronts from about a month old and I didn’t turn them over. They were always in the room with me for naps / sleep until 6 months when they moved to own room. Dc2 is 13 months now and still sleeps on his front with his face snuggled into his comforter. Ofc you’ve got to do what feels right for you, but in my mums generation babies slept on their fronts. Read about the risk factors for Sid’s - low birth weight, maternal alcohol use etc.

Thanks! Makes me feel alot more at ease, my 4 year old has never slept on his front so never had the worry! I'll try and relax more about it.

No need to reposition her- you’re just disturbing her sleep and yours! As long as they go down on their backs then it’s fine and perfectly safe for them to sleep in whatever position they get themselves into presuming a clear cot with a firm mattress and no loose covers. It’s not a SIDS risk unless you put them down on their front. Mine both slept on their sides from weeks old.
