4 month old won't sleep unless total darkness- do cot covers exist?

Within the bounds of safety of course, we are wondering whether a sort of curtain/ mosquito net product might exist to put over our DS's cot- even with full black out cutains we can't get hs room dark enough to prevent him waking and staying awake after 45 minutes during the day. (He sleeps for longer in his pushchair, which we can make totally dark, however he is about to outgrow it.) Has anyone ever come across anything like this, and if not any other light- blocking tips...?!

Lady, I am not sure about cot covers but it might be worth investigating fitting battening to the sides of your window and attaching velcro to that and the edges of the blackout blind, to totally exlude light coming round the edge.

..or get blackout blinds professionally fitted... might cost a bit more but you might think it's worth it in the long run. Hillarys, dunelm mill do fitting I think.

I would really urge you not to put anything over the top of the cot.

I think if you make it so your child can only sleep in absolute pitch dark you will have trouble if you need him to sleep somewhere other than his bedroom.

If you get proper blackout blinds, push them against the window so they don't let in light through the side.

How do you make his pushchair completely dark?

Perhaps it's not the lighting issue? My 5-month-old has never napped for more than 45-mins during the day (unless in constant motion in the car/pram) and two or three of those naps a day seem to do him fine. What makes you think he needs more sleep in one stint? Is he unhappy after he wakes up?
