Blanket at 7 months?

Hi all,
My baby will be 7 months on the 1st & I'm just wondering if this is still too young to give him a cellular blanket/muslin at night? He has his large muslin during the day because we're obviously awake & can watch him and the difference it makes to his sleep is crazy. He loves to just rub something on his face and have them covering his hands etc. (we used love to dream swaddles so maybe why?).

At bedtime we've been giving it to him until he falls asleep and then removing but as soon as we remove it he becomes so unsettled and often wakes up. Nights have been awful lately. I have the Muslin & also a mamas & papas cellular blanket. This one to be exact www.mamasandpapas.com/products/knitted-blanket-pointelle-7883kx101.

I understand nhs & lullaby trust advise on an empty cot until at least 12 months.

Would really appreciate any thoughts on this. Thank you in advance

I mean, noone can really say anything other than nhs & lullaby trust advise on an empty cot until at least 12 months.

Not everyone follows alladpect of recommended guidance, but choosing to do it or not is a personal risk assessment judgment, not influenced by others.

I wouldn’t. I’ve got a baby the same age and wouldn’t use a blanket, it’s just too risky. Nights can be awful for any number of reasons, it’s rough and I sympathise.

We've always used used muslins in the cot with our DS, for same reason as you he uses it for comfort.

As PP said only you can make the decision on what risk you are comfortable with

I just wouldn't. If he wants hands covered use a sleepsuit with scratch mitts?
