Too Much Sleep?

In a FTM and my 4 month only simply cat naps during the day nothing more than 40 mins……

but overnight she sleeps for like 10 hrs…… should I be waking her earlier?

During the day she’s happy, alert, feeding well and lots of wet nappies?

Am I worrying for nothing?

@JollyHostess101 yes u str worrying for nothing! 10 hours is great. Cat napping is normal and she will eventually lengthen when she is ready. I extend naps if I can (be bothered!) and have the time. Otherwise i just start a new wake window after her cat nap!

Thank you!! My mum isn’t here anymore and didn’t want to bother my mother for what thought was probably me being weird!

Definitely worrying over nothing. My now 13mo only ever had 30 min naps and never slept the whole night through until a couple of weeks ago. Enjoy it while you can before the dreaded sleep regressions start. Great advice I think to never wake a sleeping baby😊

The duration of daytime naps can vary from baby to baby. Some babies take shorter catnaps, while others may consolidate their daytime drift hunters sleep into longer naps. It's important to consider the overall sleep duration in a 24-hour period. If your baby is getting a total of around 14-16 hours of sleep (including nighttime sleep and daytime naps), and she seems content and is meeting her developmental milestones, it's generally a positive sign.
