Dreading the clock change

DS2's sleep is a mess at the moment. Combination of 9 month regression + teething. We are near enough battling hourly wake ups.

I am absolutely DREADING the clocks going back this weekend. His sleep is crap enough at the moment without waking up an extra hour earlier than he needs to 😩😩

You need to check your clocks, OP

FebMama · 28/10/2023 10:45

@Allthegoodnamesarechosen why is that? The clocks go back, so what would typically be a 6am wake up is likely to be 5am. That's what I am referring to.

Can you put him down 30 minutes later, to try and stagger the change ?

I just ignored it. Mine is 3 now but I just put her to to bed at the same time regardless and got up at the same time! It doesn't matter what the clock says!!

Watto1 · 28/10/2023 11:07

I used to stagger the change in 15 min blocks. You don’t have to do it all in one go.

The same amount of time will have passed between bedtime and waking up, even if the clock shows an hour earlier.

A pain for anyone having to set an alarm and be somewhere at a set time, but not for baby who wakes up when they want.

It actually wasn't so bad!
LO went to bed for 7.30pm. Slept through until 4.30am which was an absolute miracle with no wake ups. Woke up due to a soiled nappy so changed him and let him come in the bed with us at that point. He then slept until 7am 🙌🏽
