15 month old and early wake ups- what can I do?

My 15 month old dd has started the habit of waking at 5am and my husband and I are walking around like zombies all day as there is no getting her back off to sleep!

She's never been the best sleeper and used to wale lots in the night, but after stopping breastfeeding through the night and dropping to 1 nap a day, she started to sleep through the night (finally at 14 months!)

We thought we'd hacked it! Bed at 7pm, up at 6-6.30am and then a 1.5-2 hour nap midday. But suddenly she has started waking earlier and earlier, which is now a consistent 5-5.30am wake up!

She has blackouts, I dress her based on the temp of the room, so it's nothing like that. We have tried moving her bedtime forward to 6.30 in case she's over tired, later to 7.30, giving her milk in the morning (in the dark) but nothing works it's still 5am and ready to start the day!

I'm having to give her naps now at about 11 as she's knackered by this point, but even they are unpredictable! Sometimes naps 1.5 hours and others wakes after 30 mins!

I'm at my wits end and have no idea what to do or try to resolve this! My husband and I are like zombies plus I'm 10 weeks pregnant with all day nausea- which really adds to the tiredness!

Has anyone come out onto the other side and any tips or tricks on what I can do to help?

Wake to Sleep method

Google it, it's a game changer. You just need to be consistent

Oh just googled! Sounds scary, but I will give anything a try at this point!

Did it work for you and how many days did it take?

Weetabix for supper worked for our twin girls. Similar slept well then kept waking 5.30am after 3 nights I told my mum she said bet the girls are hungry try Weetabix before bed. So we did and now they eat a Weetabix before bed half a cup of milk and they go at 7.30-9:30am ish now

IMO if you try and ‘fix’ it, it drives you mad because you’re in the mindset of failing and it drags you down. It you accept it as normal it’s so much easier.

With my second I see everything as just a phase and life is chilled and happy rather than feeling like I’m struggling at something.

Everyone is different of course.

I used it several times when dd was a baby but each time it worked within 3 days

I'd also agree with supper though, it's used to be mashed banana for me but im sure Weetabix would do the job too.

@karrliz Hey, I was just wondering how you got on with this? I’m in the exact same position with my 17 month old. Night weaned and dropped nap, which helped sleep through night and initially woke between 6-7am but now consistently waking between 5-5.30am. Would love to know if you managed to correct it!
