Dropping last night feed

Has anyone else got a really stubborn baby? He probably takes after me...

I have been weaning my sons night feed and he's on only 50ml. He typically wakes around 2am and chats to himself so I leave him and then by 3 he's pretty upset and won't settle without the bottle.

My sleep consultant said to just drop the feed and do our usual settling method of spaced soothing but I honestly don't think he'll go back to sleep? He's gone two hours before until I relented and fed.

50ml is such a tiny feed and when I give it to him, he's not exactly ravenous and is very casual about the feed. Plus he's never that hungry come 7am so I know he doesn't need it, but I just cannot get him back to sleep?!

Everything on the internet says I can drop the feed now that it's so small but they make it sound so easy 😂

I started diluting the night feed when I finally got too fed up with it. Just adding a bit more water every few days. After a few weeks waking up for a watery milk wasn't worth it for him and he started sleeping through.

Yes, dilute it until it’s water.

My daughter is the same! 8 months and still wanting milk! Do you think the trick is to dilute it more? I’m sooooo fed up of getting up for milk when she’s eating 3 meals a day plus 3 bottles during the day! TIA
