As the title says!!! He's breathing fine he has his head to the side I can see his dummy/mouth on camera but it's terrifying. Every time I flip him back over he's rolled back within five minutes ! Reassurance please ❤️

All my children and grandchildren slept on their fronts with their bums in the air as soon as they could roll over. He'll be fine.

@sadaboutmycat Thankyou that's reassuring to hear. I'm so worried he'll bury his face and won't breathe I know it sounds ridiculous

As long as he is able to roll he is fine to sleep on tummy, plus they advise a hard mattress in cot because it means that if they do sleep face down then they can still breath :) don’t worry I am a HV and have lots of worried mums when this happens.

Was terrified with my first and remember googling. The basis theory is that when they are old enough to roll they are old enough to choose there tummy as their muscles have developed enough

@Tiredmummy101 Thankyou! Yes he has a firm mattress with nothing in the cot etc. he's been doing it a few days now I think it's just his preferred position bless him! Thankyou for replying xxx

All three of mine were tummy sleepers. I think a huge number of babies (and adults!) are. As long as they are rolling there themselves, and can roll back, I’m told it’s perfectly safe.

Mine were like yours, as soon as you roll them off their tummy they rolled back. I compromised by moving them into the recovery position so they were nearly but not quite on their tummy. They seemed to stay in that position so we were both happy. Could you try that?

mumtoboys12 · 03/09/2023 02:04

@LittleFroglets yep i have tried everything but he just seems very happy on his front so I will leave him to it! X

@Tiredmummy101

What if they can only roll back to front, is it still ok or should they be moved?
