Sleep bag advice

Hi all, I’m thinking of moving baby (7 weeks) into sleeping bag tonight as she keeps fighting her blanket (tucked in safe!) and I don’t feel she’s warm enough.

I have a 1 tog bag from Asda (she meets the weight guide etc) and our room is around 20 degrees going by the gro egg.

What would you suggest underneath? A long sleeve vest?

I’m no expert - just one baby
but she was always most comfortable in her bag with a long sleeved vest on. Short sleeves left her arms and hands cold, even on warm nights when she was that little, and a sleep suit and bag led to hot legs thrashing around and waking her up!

Long sleeve vest and 1 tog bag was what my little one would have worn last summer when she was 3-5 months or so, she always has liked her arms covered.

Agree, I'd do long sleeve vest and sleeping bag. You can find guides online too for future ref.

Thanks all! I did have a look at some of the guides but lots seemed to say slightly different things! Will start her in it from tomorrow as she’s fast asleep now (for now!)

Our room is about 20 deg too and we’re using 1 tog, short sleeve vest, long sleeve pjs 😃.

To add, not sure if you’re currently swaddling with blankets but when DD was little we transitioned from blanket swaddle to the love to dream swaddle up bags which kept her arms and hands covered.

Thanks @Angeldelight50 ! We haven’t been swaddling just a blanket, but we do have that swaddle! Might give it a try soon as she’s much more active now and does love to have her arms up and they sometimes seem to bother her!

Turned out the sleeping bag was too big, so back to the blanket for now!

It fits her neck so no room to move down but is quite wide on her arms so she can pull them in, this is too big right?

Have a look at the tommee tippee sleeping bags. The one that can be used as a swaddle or sleeping bag is good for smaller babies.

The Love to Dream ones are good too. You can get the transition ones that have the option of arms in like a swaddle or out like a normal sleeping bag and they are quite snug fitting.

This might be of interest, I bought my little one a 1.5 tog sleep sack from Tesco recently & it has poppers under the arms to make it smaller there. Fits her perfectly & she's a small 9 weeks. Also it's been much easier to put her down in her crib than when we were tucking her under a blanket. Hope you have the same success!
