10 months daytime sleep (or lack of)

My second child is just 10 months old and I thought I'd be a bit more clued up this time but clearly not!

Everything seems to suggest she should be one two naps a day, aiming for around 3 hours sleep. She often just has one, it's often hard fought and on the go - in the pushchair or car. Sometimes as little as 30 mins and that's it, done. My eldest (3.5 years) is on summer holidays at the moment so I have them both all the time. Spending ages winding down and settling for a nap in her cot is just not an option, unless I just stick my eldest in front of the telly which doesn't feel great, especially when it doesn't even guarantee a nap.

Every day I give plenty of opportunities for a nap, following her signs of eye rubbing ear pulling etc but she's just not taking them.

She's ebf, and it's got to be said overwhelmingly content and happy, so perhaps I shouldn't be worrying. She starts to lose it about an hour before bedtime when it becomes hard work, and often wakes a few times in the evening before we co-sleep from 9.30/10pm.

Did anyone else have a babe who had such low nap needs from such a young age? Are they ok now...?
Thank you!

Oh that sounds tough, though nice to hear she's happy as a clam in the meantime! Mine was always the same and I tried it all. Eventually she just started to nap longer, I'm not sure why at all. It happened around 12 months. That also in turn helped the evening sleep. (Sort of an "I told you so" from me, but they won't bloody listen!). She went through a 30 mins nap stage at nursery and would be wrecked when she finished. But now we are fairly solid on 1-1.5 hours and she's turning 2 in a couple weeks!
