10 month old constantly waking up at 4.30am

I'm at my wits end with 10 months old early waking.

Dd has never been a good sleeper but it seems to be getting worse than better and (I think) I've tried everything!

Where am I going wrong?

4.30am - awake, leave her in cot till about 5am which is when the screaming and throwing herself around starts

5.15am - bottle

7am - breakfast

8.30am - nap, roughly 1hr 20 mins

10.15am - bottle

11.00am - go out for an activity, walk etc

12.30pm - lunch

1.45pm - nap, roughly 1hr 10 mins

3.15pm - bottle

4.00pm - walk to park/supermarket

5.15pm - dinner

6.30pm - bottle

6.45pm - bath

7pm - bed, which she falls asleep almost instantly

Will she go back to sleep after an early bottle?

I would try and cut one of the bottles and get her to eat a bit more. Push back bed time by 30 mins to see if that helps.

No never, if anything the bottle gives her more energy!

I have tried having earlier/later bedtime for a few nights in a row but that doesn't seem to change anything. But at the moment I am willing to give anything a try!

I would say the afternoon nap is too late, she needs to be napping 1-3pm ideally and the morning nap capped to 45 minutes to an hour.

Does she drink all the bottle at 5am?

Ohh ok I will try that today!

Some mornings she will drain the 5am bottle and other times she won't so I'm never really sure if she's waking up because she's hungry

My daughter went through this stage and I used to offer a drink of water then pat pat shush it’s sleepy time etc when she was settled but awake I’d leave the room. If she cried id wait three minutes then go back in to pat pat shush again and repeat until she fell asleep/

My babies still woke in the night sometimes for feeds at 10 months. For mine who were breastfed I’d just stick a boob in and they’d go straight back to sleep at that sort of time. For my bottle fed baby I’d buy those pre made cartons for the night feeds and keep a sterile bottle by the bed.
As it’s still in the night try feeding straight away rather then waiting then feeding then doing breakfast. An hours nap at 8am means your baby obviously hadn’t finished it’s sleep and maybe just woke a bit hungry or thirsty.also don’t even make eye contact just pick up, feed keeping the room dark (you’ll need Blackout curtains as it’s light at 4am now) and put her straight back down to sleep.

As pp said, shorten and make earlier the pm nap but if it doesn’t work, don’t give up, try it every day for at least five days to help adjust the sleep pattern. Good luck!

Omg I wish pat pat shush shush worked with mine at that age 😅

I'll give it a go but it seems as soon she's awake that's it there's no going back to sleep

Honestly my daughter was exactly the same but we worked with a sleep expert and this is what she advised.

Once they know there is no milk or getting out of the cot she soon went back to sleep. Other than a few 4:30am starts when the clocks have changed she’s slept 7-6:30 consistently since 6m old. She’s almost 4 now.

@BambiEll did you manage to resolve this? Having the same issue with my 10 month old. I don’t feed but he screams blue murder until I get him up at 6am. Only way I can get him back to sleep is holding him and even that’s a struggle. I go back to work soon and I’m really worried about these 4.30am starts and doing a full day at work.
