Bed guard to fit a king size bed? Co-sleeping question

Hi All,

We're co-sleeping which is great in many ways. However, because one of us always has to be in the bed with LO in case he falls out, it's having quite a negative affect on our relationship! A bed guard would make a massive difference but I can't find one that fits adult size beds.

Any help very gratefully received!

Thanks

How little is your little one? Could you put him in the centre and put something bulky either side of him (rolled up blankets or something) to stop him rolling towards the edge?

When mine were little I used to put a big bank of cushions around the edges of the bed, so that when if they rolled off, they landed on something soft.

He's big, strong and active 11 mo. I can't understand why manufactures don't do bigger bed guards - loads of people co-sleep these days.

Hi, we use regular bed guards on our kingsize bed (we co-sleep with twins) and they stay on very well as they fit inside the wooden bed base. We also use them on divan beds when away on holiday -- they are not held so securely so need to be checked every day for movement. The best one we have is a mesh one with a metal frame that folds up well, BabyDan from Toys r Us. As with any bed guard, just make sure the gap between guard and headboard is large enough to avoid a hanging hazard. With sleeping space being at a premium I like the way bedguards let you use more of the bedspace!

Hi, we use a regular bed guard as well that we 'altered' to fit our king size (slated) bed. It seems to work fine. Another option would be to lose your bed frame and put the matress on the floor?
