5 months old 9pm bedtime

My little one is still having a late bedtime at 9pm. Her last nap is around 6.30z wondering if I should try and sacrifice the last nap and make bedtime earlier.

she does sleep well from 9pm til 5am so worried I might mess with her rhythm. But also feel like she might be ready for proper 7ish bedtime.

she has 5 naps a day all 30 min cat naps between 7am and 9pm.

Can you try and settle baby back down for longer naps in the day when she stirs? I have a baby of a similar age, he sleeps 2 or three times depending on what we're doing, usually one long nap of 1.5/2 hours then two shorter naps of 30/45 mins. Bedtime is 8 (though will bring down to 7 in the next few weeks hopefully). Wakes at 6/6.30z.

I don't understand this. What's the issue? Baby is getting her total sleep needs in 24 hours and you're incredibly fortunate she's doing long stretches overnight. Don't mess with it!

If the issue is naps you can try various things to help her re-settle but 7pm isn't a 'proper' bedtime and some babies just like short naps and that's how it is.

For context both of mine would sleep on me/swing/moses basket etc in the evenings until I went to bed around 10pm as I chose to follow safe sleep guidance.

I wouldn't change it, 9-5 sounds like a decent night's sleep for you too!

I agree with everyone here, it's working ok atm, you don't want to risk cocking it up and creating more problems for you all. At 5mo my DC1 was going to sleep around 9pm-ish iirc. DC2 it was more like 7.30/8pm. They're all different.

I would work round it rather than force it. Sleeping thru til 5am at that afe is good going.

My second went through a phase at that age of sleeping 11pm - 11am with a couple of quick feeds in the night. It was during Covid so nowhere to be. It was bloody brilliant tbh.

Exactly the same as my little boy even down to the naps. We have to have a catnap otherwise he wouldn’t last longer. Tonight it was 5.45-6.15 and we went to bed at 8. Didn’t fall asleep til 8.30. Keeps waking up approx 12am which he never did before so I’m wondering whether bedtime needs to be later for him to become more tired.
might try it tomorrow and sim for a 9pm bedtime. Hard though as I want to be in bed 8pm myself so don’t know whether to sack off the last nap. Will try tomorrow and see how we get on

5 month sleep regression or am I doing something wrong?

My 5.5 month son night time sleep is getting worse and worse. We've started weaning last two weeks and before that he had a bad cold for 2 weeks and since the cold his sleep has been terrible and it's getting worse. We have a good bed time routine, he goes to sleep fairly easier but recently after an hour or two he will wake up, he generally will only go back after some milk ( combo fed).
We do lots of stimulation in day, baby groups twice a week, a walk everyday, he naps 3 times a day maybe 4 for 15-20 mins ( this has been the same for months).
He has recently started to try and crawl, getting into the position lots of hip thrusts but not actually moving forward yet.
Any suggests would be great. I try keep him in his cot till 4 or 5 in morning but I generally give up at this time as I need sleep so we co sleep till 7/8. Please help anyone, 5 hours of broken sleep is getting really hard
