Getting 15 month old to sleep 11-12 hours at night

My LO always seems to be up about 10 hours (sometimes only 9 hours) after going to bed, so recently after putting her to bed at 8pm she was getting up at 5 everyday and then being so exhausted she was back to sleep by 7:30am. (She wakes a lot in the night still so it's broken sleep)

I've moved her onto a 1 nap schedule and it's helped a little she's doing closer to 8pm-6am now but really I need her to be sleeping in until atleast 7am. She goes to nursery a few days a week and the baby's on the 1 nap schedule go to sleep at 1pm after lunch so I'm aiming for a similar schedule at home but there's no way she'll make it until 1pm getting up so early.

She is currently having 1 nap of 2.5 hours or a nap of 1.5 hours and then a cat nap of 45 mins. I think this is about right for her age but she should be getting more night time sleep.

I've tried later bedtime, earlier bedtime, less daytime sleep, and she has a good bedtime routine/black out curtains ect.

Any advise appreciated I feel like I've tried everything!

I think expecting her to sleep until 7 is a bit optimistic. I’d be ecstatic if my two year old got to 6am tbh. I’d cut her down to an hour and a half nap as close to the middle of the day as you can get her to. You need to stick with it for a good week to see a difference though

That amount of sleep overnight seems normal tbh. My DD is 22 months but at that age was going to bed at 9pm for a 7am wake up with one nap which was anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours.

My first only started sleeping 12 hours at night when he finally dropped his nap at 2 years old. Until then he'd sleep roughly 9pm - 6am, and have a 2 hour nap during the day.

i think that’s normal.
At 15 months Ds still woke every few hours. Going to bed around 8.30pm, and up 5-6am. Max 1 short nap

Hes now 3 years. No nap. Usually averages 9hrs overnight ( still wakes at least once)

Never ever in 3 years has he slept 12hrs at once.

12 hours might just be too much sleep for her. It's within the average range; but on the higher end, and plenty of babies need less than that.

All the under 2s that I know are getting up around 5/6am at the moment. There isn't too much you can do about that; the early sun will play a part, even with black-out blinds. Honestly, it's easier if you try to just embrace that.

It sounds like she's doing really well.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Looks like I just need to accept 10 hours a night is enough haha.

I'm going to try and schedule a 15 minute power nap in the mornings and at nursery so she makes it until the afternoon nap with the others

The average total sleep requirement for this age is 12-15, and 10-18 may be appropriate so if yours only needs 12 hours total she isn’t going to sleep that long overnight with a nap in the middle of the day.
