DS 6 is waking up like clockwork at 6.15am every.single.morning 🤦🏻‍♀️😩
He always used to sleep until 7/7.30am but since the clocks changed and the lighter mornings and birds tweeting outside at god know what hour he wakes at 6.15am no matter what. We have black out blinds, but nothing we do makes a difference.
I'm just curious to know what time other children this age are currently waking up? I feel like this is too early and worse than when he was little 😂🙈

Some of it's a choice too. I don't want to have young kids around and awake till half 8/9 in the evening as DH and I value our time to ourselves there, so ours are both asleep by 7 and sleep for 11-12 hours. If we put them to bed at half 8 then they would sleep later for sure, but tbh we need to be up and getting ready not long after 7 anyway for work/nursery reasons so that's another consideration.

It's not by choice here by DS doesn't go to sleep until later. I would absolutely love him to go to sleep at 7pm. He'd just be staring at the walls and telling me he's hungry/thirsty etc

Sure but there are people who put their kids to bed at half 6 and wonder why they are awake at half 5! You can't have it all: lies in and evenings to yourself. If you're lucky you can choose one. If you're unlucky you get neither.

6.15 is completely normal. That's a good morning for my 4 year old DD! Her sister sleeps til 7/8, but my older DD has always been an early riser. Now she's 4 though she can amuse herself for a bit before we get up.

7 ish for DD unless we absolutely need to get up and be somewhere in which case 8, 9 or has to be woken Hmm She went through the awful 4.30am phase but it was once she started sleeping through – all the night wakes added together knocked about 90 mins off her night time once they were gone. Got longer after she stopped napping, and she does need exercising like a dog.

DS is currently a 7am boy but then again he’s also waking relentlessly all night so no way of knowing his long-term goals.

DD6 is an absolute nightmare with sleep. Always has been. She woke every 45 mins until she was 18 months. Then had huge chunks of awake time (like 2-4 hours!) In the night until nearly 5. The past year has been better-asleep by 830pm, sometimes not waking until 730. However we still have cycles of long wake ups in the night, and nightmares started a few months ago.
Sunday night it 9pm-1am (nightmare) and then 3-6.

Usually between 6.30 & 7 for my two (2&6).
