Ok How Do I Do Sleep Training If Ds1 Shares With Dd4??

Ds1 is 14 monsth old and has never slept through, b/f to sleep mainly but semi awake when put into cot.

He is now sharing with dd4 aged 4.5 and she is a fab 7-7 sleeper so how on earth do I get him to sleep without ruining her sleep?

We have tried co sleeping, it's not for us at all.

I need to get him to sleep without the screaming

Dh is a lorry driver so disturbed nights can effect him badly the next day.
4 other kids too and I am a walking Zombie

Had same problem as you. Need to remove the older DD for a short time. Quickest and easiest way to do it. Could she bunk down somewhere else in the house for a while? May be for a few weeks.

Nope The reason she is such a good sleeper is she is so set in a routine that if I change her routine I run the risk of losing her good sleep pattern.
God why do we have kids

She sleeps soundly so it would be ok if I could find a way of getting him to sleep without the crying??

Does he have an afternoon nap and does he settle well for that? If so, anything you could repeat? Any chance of putting DS1 to sleep earlier and DD just a little later, so DS is asleep before DD goes to bed.

Agree with not disturbing your DH, he needs his sleep. I've used a good book called Toddler Taming by Dr Christopher Green. He has good practical ideas and throws in a bit of humour to cheer you up.

He has a nap and goes down easily, in fact going down in the evening is ok its the waking every 2 hours screaming

Sorry, have run out of suggestions. Try Dr Christopher Green - good ideas for night-wakers as well. Good luck.
