7 month old waking every hour

HELP!
have a nearly 7 month old who wakes every hour and it’s exhausting. He’s dropped his bottles throughout the night and I usually offer one but he will only drink around half and then not want it. He doesn’t fall asleep on the bottom any more either. When he wakes up he doesn’t fully wake up and I try to leave him a while to see if he will resettle himself but he never seems to. We have started self soothing and 9/10 times he will send himself to sleep for naps and had started to for bed time. He may need the occasional hand on his tummy and hand to reassure him and help him. He is weaning and is eating meals and has a slight stuffy nose and is learning loads at the moment but I’m just all out of ideas as to what can help.

Where does he sleep @Em143?

quietnightmare · 06/05/2023 22:27

White/pink/ brown noise/ heartbeat/womb sound/ humming sounds etc

Soft music

Night light

Too hot/too cold

If you swaddle try a sleeping bad instead and visa versa

Lavender soap and moisturiser

Baby massage

Read a book

Slowly dim lights in the 15 mins before bed

Bit of a rusk/banana before bed

Try footless pjs some children don't like their feet to warm

Blackout curtains

If in your room might be time to move to own room

Teething? Try anbesol

Pain - try calpol

Wind - try gripe water and laying baby on their back and moving their legs like on a bicycle

I feel your pain though OP

Also Long walk in The evening to get the fresh air into the lungs and hopefully tire baby out

He currently sleeps in a cot in our room. Unfortunately we don’t have the means to move him into his own room until we can find a bigger house

Shame about the space. Is moving a possibility?

And how's his napping in the day?

quietnightmare · 07/05/2023 10:06

Don't worry about not having the space honestly it's not a big deal. I just found mine seemed to settle better in his own room perhaps because me moving didn't wake him.

Some also say about tilting the cot but I would check with health visitor/GP first as I've heard conflicting things about it

If you think baby may be a little bunged up they sell plug in calpol vapour plug which is also a nightlight

Could also try a humidifier?

Hope the sleeping gets better soon. It's hard just remember your not alone and it will get easier

If they are bunged up, hoovering your mattress and theirs, walking the curtains, wash the bedding at 60 and giving everything a good hoover and damp dust might help.

I should think OP cleans her home

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 07/05/2023 10:37

That's just general advice for Dust Mite allergy. Wasn't implying that the OP doesn't clean but not everyone will do things like wash the bedding at 60.
