How wd a night nanny work to sleep train a 15mo?

DD has never slept through, is still up twice most nights. I feed her back to sleep and BF her to sleep at bedtime too. She's never taken a bottle. I am done. I want to stop BF and I want to sleep. DH has been floored by a number of bugs which has delayed us doing sleep training as I'm not doing it on my own and feel he needs to be involved. So I'm thinking about getting a night nanny. We can afford it, but I don't know how it would work. Do they get to know her and then just be the one to do the night wake ups for a few nights and we stick in ear plugs as far away as we can get?

How old is the baby? If older then 6 months just do gentle sleep training. No need to get a night nanny, although if you're going to pay for something, do it properly and pay for a sleep consultant. You can get ones that come at night too. It will be worth it for you and baby, babies need sleep as it is so important for their development. Good luck

15mo. I thought sleep consultants wrote you a plan, I didn't know they'd see it through. That might be what I need then.

Sorry I just saw the age in the heading. I think it varies what they offer. Even then, pay for one and do it properly, I'm no expert but it should only take a couple of weeks so the pain will be worth it in the long run. I would say a stranger sleep training your baby (without you) would probably be weird for the baby. The point of gentle sleep training is that the baby is reassured that you are still there.

We got a sleep consultant. It was more like an accountability couch. The plan was fairly basic- same as on every website. I had to ring her every day and explain if we strayed from the plan why. That was the advantage. That when it got tough we stuck with it. Because I didn't want to have to say there was a particularly good movie on, or I had a headache, or the other kids were mental so it was easier to feed.
