.....a month after starting solids? She is still having a dream feed at 10pm of between 2-4oz and used to sleep through til 6-7am. But the last week, she has been waking between 3-5am, chatting to herself for an hour and then crying until we go in and cuddle her to sleep. And then she is still awake by 7.30!! I am sure it's not hungry as she is eating 3 meals now plus 4-5 formula feeds. Sometimes I think it could be teeth but when we turn the light on she just smiles at us as if she is just playing with us??? She is still having 3 naps - an hour in the morning, about 2 after lunch and maybe a short one between 4-5pm, should I try and cut the last one out and see if this helps her sleep better at night?

Any help would be appreciated.

i would not mess with the naps, she'll drop it when she's ready. is she crawling? or trying to? this caused us serious sleep disruption

Hi My dd is now 7 months and about a month ago went through a similar phase of waking in the night to play/talk to herself for an hour or so and would still wake up at the same time.

She was slightly different from your dd in that she was waking for feeds in the night but for a while she would play/chat for an hour or so before wanting one of her feeds and then this changed to having a feed and a play/chat afterwards before dropping back off to sleep. However the playing/chatting has now stopped (it only really went on for a couple of weeks) so it appears it was just a phase, I figured maybe due to her developing new skills that she wanted to try out in the middle of the night...
although now she's waking due to teething, coughing and rolling over....

She has now also started crying at some point between 8-10pm and her daytime is no better than when she was younger. I thought it would start getting easier but it seems to be getting harder....we also have teething and coughing!
