Moses basket in bed

I'm just considering my options for when my baby is here as currently I have a very small bedroom (hoping to move later in the year)
I have king size bed and sleep alone.

If I were to place a Moses basket in the bed with me (against the wall so no danger of falling off) would this be considered unsafe sleep?

I would obviously remove any duvet, pillows etc from that side. Has anyone done this?

I don’t think I would. It would probably be safer to co sleep following the guidelines than this. The Moses basket could tip over.

I have. Although I think the unsafe argument would be that there’s no airflow underneath the basket and plenty on here recommend mattresses on the floor.

Hello lovely, Yes, unsafe. Please don't do that. If there is no room for a Moses basket next to the king size bed on a stand, perhaps visit lullaby trust website for safe co-sleeping advice (flat mattress, no loose duvets, separate blanket for baby, your hair tied up, sleep in the 'C' position around baby, no toys/pillows, no smoking, drugs or drinking). And breastfeeding is a protective factor for safe sleep. Hope this helps

If you want to use a Moses basket and it's just you in the bed would it be possible to get a small double or something so it could fit beside the bed?

I did this a lot with our now 4-month-old because he often just wouldn’t sleep if the basket was on its stand. A midwife told me it was fine. It didn’t feel ideal but I often have to co-sleep and for me that’s also not ideal!

I did this when my second was small. Never had any issue.

It's not ideal, but safer than co-sleeping directly and mine wouldn't sleep in a cot.
