Hi guys
I've always read the threads on here and I appreciate there's already lots of posts about sleep and weaning etc and I've read them and found useful info. I just need to know if anyone has any tips for my circumstances.
My little girl will be 15 months next week.
She's always been a decent sleeper - since moving to her own room and cot at 8 months, she's generally only woken once a night.
Lately, however, she's up every 2 hours.
She started nursery 2 days a week 3 weeks ago, having previously been with grandparents those 2 days. She has also been ill on and off for about 6 weeks now - cold, jabs, infection, reaction to antibiotics, another viral infection. A couple of nights ago she coughed so violently that she was sick all over herself and her cot.
She's also currently transitioning to 1 nap since starting nursery. And to top it off, she's cut 3 molars and another is on the way.
She eats well - 3 meals and snacks. She has a bottle of milk before bed (then brush teeth, books, singing) and sometimes in the afternoon. I've tried 5 different sippy cups and varying temperatures of milk, but she refuses to drink it out of a cup.
Prior to now, she would nurse from me once in the morning when she woke and once in the night. So I was starting to wean her from the middle of the night feed, explaining she can't have it until the morning and husband comforting her if she woke.
But suddenly she will scream the house down and not go back to sleep without a breastfeed. No matter how tired she is, she will keep going until she gets it - even if I try for an hour!
Do I just need to give her time to adjust or do I need to do something else? Any tips on the cup refusal, begging for boob or sudden all night waking?
